Announcing the Inaugural Bairds of Antrim Community Assistance Fund Recipients

Bairds local Antrim community grant programme winners

We are proud to introduce the first ever recipients of the Bairds of Antrim Community Assistance Programme, a brand new initiative supporting grassroots organisations working to uplift and care for the people of Antrim.

This inaugural round of funding has been awarded to several outstanding community groups making a real impact:

The Shed, Antrim
Funding will support the women of The Shed as they craft handmade items for hospital patients, including syringe driver bags, breast drain bags, trauma teddies, and lap blankets. These thoughtful creations bring comfort, dignity, and emotional support to individuals during their most vulnerable times.

Round Tower Primary School
With many pupils facing challenges such as low income, language barriers, and wellbeing needs, this grant helps deliver a school breakfast programme. By ensuring children start the day nourished, the school is helping bridge educational gaps and promote better mental and physical health.

Antrim Foodbank
As more local families turn to foodbanks in the face of economic hardship, this funding will help meet growing demand. The grant supports the purchase of essential groceries to stock outlets across Antrim and feed hundreds of individuals and families every month.

Home Start Antrim
This funding will assist Home Start’s vital work supporting local families, providing parenting guidance, early years development support, and help with mental health and wellbeing during times of crisis.

We are honoured to stand behind these inspiring organisations as they work at the heart of our community. This inaugural round of funding is just the beginning — stay tuned for stories and updates from each of the funded projects!

The next round of the Community Assistance Programme opens 11th August 2025, so if you have a community organisation that would like to apply for funding, please see here for details.
