All about us
Bairds of Antrim was founded in the late 1870’s by James Baird, great grandfather of the current Manager, Jon Baird.
In the early years the firm was a meeting point for those transporting their goods from the North West of the province to the docks in Belfast. Horses were fed and rested before the final journey to the docks.
“Bairds of Antrim has been serving the local community and surrounding areas for 4 generations with over 140 years of experience, providing a professional and caring service to families in their time of need.”
The business was the first in Antrim to purchase a motor fleet, consisting of a hearse and two limousines.
“We still take great pride in our fleet of vehicles today.”
The funeral church was purpose built a few years ago and is a modern, warm and friendly environment for families to hold a funeral service.
Bairds Funeral Service in Ballyclare has been serving the local community and surrounding areas for over five years.
The business was formerly owned and run by the McConnell family who had a long serving relationship with the community in Ballyclare. The current Manager, Jon Baird, is a fourth generation Funeral Director with 30 years experience.
“The premises have recently gone through refurbishment offering a warm and friendly environment for families in their time of need.”
Bairds Funeral Service has supported various community initiatives which they believe are very important to be able to give something back to the community in which they serve.
Protecting the environment is very important. We always ask our suppliers to guarantee that all timber they use to make our coffins and caskets comes from sustainable sources. We believe that this approach to environmental responsibility is unique among Funeral Directors.
